The 17th annual International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA http://www.icsa.org) Applied Statistics Symposium (http://stat.rutgers.edu/icsa2008) will be held on June 4-7th, 2008 , at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Piscataway , New Jersey , USA . All members of the statistics community around the world, who can exchange and explore new scientific research and application techniques, are invited to participate in this exciting and rich symposium organized by the ICSA.  

The symposium program schedule has been posted on the symposium website. The key information is highlighted below:

  • Jun 4th 6 excellent short courses;   
  • Jun 5th - 7th 54 invited and contributed scientific sessions allocated to 11 time periods; 
  • 4 students have won awards and travel grants;    
  • Jun 5th and 6th: 4 keynote speeches by Dr. Robert O'Neill from the FDA, Prof. David DeMets from University of Wisconsin, Prof. Zhiliang Ying from Columbia University, and Prof. Jianqing Fan from Princeton University.  
  • Jun 6th lunch time: a career development event, hosted by Rutgers University and ICSA, will provide a platform for students and junior statisticians to extend their knowledge on career building and improvement, with face to face meeting with senior statisticians and statistical leaders from academia, government, pharmaceutical and financial industries;  
  • Jun 5th evening: a mixer planned for attendee to meet with new and old friends, and to relax and entertain themselves;   
  • Jun 6th evening: a banquet planned and Dr. Shien Biau Woo from the 80-20 Educational Foundation has been invited as a distinguished banquet speaker.

The organizing committee welcomes you to attend this symposium. Online and paper registrations are available. You may register separately for the short courses and the symposium.  You may pay registration due by credit cards using on-line registration, but we only accept cash for paper or check/cash for on-site registration. We recommend you register before the symposium starts in order to reduce our workload.
