Statistics and Biostatistics Graduate Program

We are a major department of statistics with internationally recognized faculty members. We offer M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in statistics. Besides the regular M.S. degree in Applied Statistics, we offer a M.S. with specializations in Industrial Quality Management, Biostatistics, and Data Mining. Our Ph.D. program is a continuation of the M.S. program in the sense that a M.S. student can transfer to a Ph.D. after passing a written qualifier exam. Students planning to pursue this option should talk to the graduate director before beginning the MS probability courses 960:580 or 960:582. We offer Fellowships and Teaching Assistantships to our Ph.D. students strictly on merit basis.

The employment record of Rutgers Statistics graduates is very good. Besides academia, our graduates have career opportunities in the Phamaceutical Industry, Telecommuncations, Educational Testing, Financial Services, Environmental Research, Imaging Technology, Actuarial Sciences, Quality Management, and with various consulting firms.

Our degrees are awarded by the Graduate School-New Brunswick on recommendation of the Graduate Program in Statistics and Biostatistics.

The director's office is at Hill 504.
